Malaysia
A Travel Secret
I have had the opportunity to visit Malaysia several times on business. Most of my time was spent in Kuala Lumpur, but I had also several weekends to explore further into the countryside. It did help that my daughter, Anna, spent a year in Malaysia on a Fulbright Fellowship teaching English in a small town called Jerantut a couple of hours north of KL. During my visits I came to love the country and the generosity and friendliness of the people.
Jerantut
I have traveled to Jerantut twice, the first in April second in August of 2017. On the first trip, I was in Malaysia on business and my daughter picked me up at the airport and drove me to her town north of KL. The second time I was with my son and his girlfriend and we rented a car and drove the arduous journey navigating unfamiliar roads driving on the opposite side of the road I am accustomed.
